A Will – More Than A Legal Document
While a Will is a legal document to ensure that your assets are transferred to your next of kin effectively and efficiently, it can be more than that. You can include words of love, encouragement as well as your aspiration you have for your beneficiaries.
It is after all, your final words. When you pass away, your Will will be read out to the beneficiaries. Last words have a powerful effect on people. Imagine hearing loving words like these being said to you.-
Dear Darling, you are my best friend and I love you so much. I’m sorry that I have to leave you. I want you to be strong and to carry on. I’ve made sure the money will be there for you and our children, so don’t worry. I know you will take care of them well.
Jimmy, daddy loves you very much. Since you are the eldest in the family, I hope that you will always take care of your younger brothers and sisters. Also help your mother to whenever you can to run the family business.
To Ann, Donald and Kim, you must listen to your mother and Jimmy. Remember to study hard, help your mother and help one another. Don’t fight anymore. Daddy love all of you and am very proud of you all.
How would you feel if you are the son? Words like these can leave a lasting impact for your loved ones to spur them on when you cannot be there for them. Consider putting these in when you write your Will.
