I came across this entry at 43things.com. On this site, you can declare what you would like to do. LaoMao1 wrote,
Yesterday I got an e-mail from one of my colleague in Malaysia. He told me that he got nasal cancer. He is younger than me with 3 kids.
This reminds me that I shall finish this task (write a Will) so that my loved ones will be covered if something may happen to me.

I found it quite a complicated task. The examples I saw were too simple for my situation, so I just tried to use as plain English as I could. Now I just have to OK it all with the person I have in mind as executor and get a JP to witness it.
You can read what others wrote regarding writing a Will here. Seems like as awareness increases, people are motivated to take action.
I wrote a will myself a few years ago using a sample I got from someone. Since I was single and broke at that time, I thot it is ok for me. Later on, I let a professional will writer wite the will and when I showed him the will, I left out quite a number of things. Lucky nothing happened.
We have looked through many DIY Wills and many times there are mistakes there. Common mistakes include not naming substitute beneficiaries, executors or guardians. Sometimes the people you nominate dies before you do. Also, if your witness cannot be located at the point of your death, it also causes delays. It is good that you’ve gotten a professional to do the job.
