Fighting Over Inheritance
We know a friend, let’s call her June. It is not her real name. June was dad’s favorite girl among her siblings. After retuning from her studies overseas, she got a job in KL and her dad gave her his car to use in KL. He was quite well to do owning several properties so a car was no big deal to him.
Not long after that, June’s dad died suddenly. June’s was devastated over her father’s death. The family found out the father did not leave a Will and one of the things they argued over was the car. They say, since the car was in dad’s name, it should be part of his estate, while in June’s perspective, the car was given to her! This made dealing with her dad’s death even harder.
Things like this happens all the time. It could be some jewelry, a watch, golf clubs or just about anything. Don’t create unnecessary problems in the home. You are never too young to write your Will. Do it as soon as possible.
